We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer these incredible Ancient Coin Kits. During the time of the Roman Empire it was common for people to bury hoards of coins to safeguard them. As time passed, people often forgot where their coins were buried, moved away and never returned, or died. As a result, archaeological digs in Europe often yield huge quantities of 2,000 year old coins. We have partnered with an ancient coin dealer to bring you the very highest quality coins available. His coins come from only the best European sources and are pre-screened to remove coins that are broken or damaged. He then personally screens the coins especially for us to ensure that we can offer absolutely wonderful specimens.
Imagine the wonder of holding a coin that was held by someone walking the earth at the time of Christ. I cannot begin to describe the impact these coins had on our test families. History truly came alive as the children experienced the joy of cleaning and restoring a real piece of ancient history.
PLEASE NOTE that unlike our other kits, these kits DO require the use of small amounts of some common household items. We have packaged the coins with the more difficult-to-find items along with complete cleaning instructions. Cleaning the coins will take a few weeks (After all, it took them a couple of thousand years to get dirty!) and will require the use of dish soap and/or olive oil in addition to the materials we supply. You may also enjoy making a simple electrolysis machine to clean them. This can be done for just a couple of dollars and you will find easy-to-follow instructions in your kit.
