I have to admit that I am very skeptical when it comes to study guides for books. Most of them seem like, well, a waste of time. I am also pretty skeptical about modern Bible studies or devotionals for children. Many of them are shallow and trivialize the very principles they claim to teach.
I was honestly thrilled to find that the Life Lessons books for The Princess and the Kiss (for girls) and The Squire and the Scroll (for boys) broke the mold and proved me wrong!!
Life Lessons from The Squire and the Scroll delves deeply into the principles presented in The Squire and the Scroll. These principles of purity, courage, nobilty and godly manhood are clearly laid out for boys to study with their fathers. Each lesson contains teaching about a specific concept, a Bible verse to read and study, and practical, easy-to-complete application projects (the kind that really get done!). Please know that while the teaching is deep, none of the details are graphic. This is perfect for weekly or monthly father and son time that will bear precious fruit for decades to come. This book can be used with very young boys right up through preteens or even older. Information and suggestions for special knighting celebrations and ceremonies are included in the back of the book.
