This is another fantastic resource from Trivium Pursuit. Little Bitty Baby Learns Hebrew is a beginning Hebrew book which teaches the Biblical Hebrew alphabet. In Hebrew, as in English, the first step to learning the language is to learn the alphabet, and I can't imagine a better resource for doing so than this book!
There is one page devoted to each letter. Each letter is written in large calligraphy, and additional text on each page tells how to pronounce and write the letter. The calligraphy letters are large enough for children to easily trace with their fingers as you go through the book. Each page also features an utterly charming illustration by Johannah that offers a visual memory cue for the letter. The entire alphabet is reviewed in a chart at the end.
This book is published in a sturdy board book format. It is suitable for all ages. Any child who needs to learn the Hebrew alphabet will benefit from the clear instruction and wonderful memory aids. This book is also great even for babies and toddlers who love to be read to. Our little Sarah is more than happy to have someone read her this book and help her trace the letters. It is also great fun to talk about the endearing illustrations. We do it because we love to snuggle and read, not because we want to drill a toddler in Hebrew - yet we are sure that the repetition will eventually result in a little gal who can say the alphabet in English and Hebrew!
