This is the classic square loom you may remember from your childhood. Unfortunately, most of the looms on the market today are absolutely useless. The cheap, plastic frame is not designed to really hold the loops in place, and the loops themselves are made of nylon. Nylon potholders cannot actually be used with hot items!! It is very frustrating for a child to work hard making something that turns out to be useless.
Our loom is larger than most and made of metal. The pegs curve outward to hold the loops in place. In addition, our loom comes with 100% pure virgin wool loops. (enough for 2 lovely potholders) My daughter gave me a potholder made from these wool loops and I use it every day. It is my very favorite - not just because she made it, but because it is the thickest, most heat-resistant potholder I own. The kit also includes instructions for weaving more intricate patterns and for several projects other than potholders. Weaving potholders is a wonderful handicraft for children. NOTE: This product has been repackaged and now contains cotton loops instead of wool loops. There are enough loops to make 6 potholders instead of just 2. The cotton potholders are lovely and we still sell the refill wool loops for those who would like wool potholders.
