If we gave out Academy Awards around here, Quest for Glory would be sure to win first place! This Civil War movie is action packed, touching, and filled with the truth about the real nature of glory and the only way to find joy and fulfillment. When our six children saw it for the first time, I don't think any of them even breathed until it was over, but as soon as the DVD player was turned off they bolted out of their seats and headed straight for the dress up trunk! Our home was immediately taken over by Yanks, Rebels, and a couple of adorable Southern belles.
This is family entertainment the way it was meant to be. Get this movie. You will love it. If you still aren't sure, read the review by 8 year old Matthew Estes below:
If your children like to watch movies about the Civil War, here is one of the best ones. Quest of Glory is a very, very, very good movie because it is very exciting. It is a movie about two brothers that lived during the Civil War. One grew up to be a soldier and one grew up to be a doctor. When the war started, the doctor, named Danny, became an army doctor for the Yanks. Colt, the soldier, fought for the Conferderate Army. Both of them were looking for glory. They learned that true glory only comes from God.
